How? Let's see your creativity! Your scarecrow can be traditional, spooky or fun!
RULES & TIPS
Scarecrows must be family-friendly. No offensive, controversial, inappropriate, religious, violent or political entries will be accepted.
Scarecrows must be built on a PVC pipe which will be provided to you. You can pick it up at the WB Public Library during business hours from September 16-October 1st.
Your scarecrow must be weather-resistant and sturdy. It will be displayed for a full month. We strongly encourage you to visit your scarecrows periodically to ensure it is holding up to the weather.
You will be assigned a location to display your scarecrow (using the flag pole holes along the sidewalk). You must install your scarecrow between Monday Oct 3-Wednesday Oct 5.
TIPS:
A strong idea is key. Sometimes the best entries are the simplest, yet most recognizable.
Craftsmanship can make or break the overall look of a project.
Stuff your straw into pantyhose to keep it in one place!
Your scarecrows will have prolonged exposure to all kinds of weather. Make sure to seal porous materials, such as papier-mâché, with a water-repellent spray (3M or Scotchguard)
