Quick & Easy Detours to Avoid I-80 Road Work on your way to West Branch
Iowa DOT Construction on Interstate 80 has closed Westbound Exit 254 (West Branch) through late July 2025.
Westbound Travelers:
Coming from the Quad Cities area to West Branch
Visiting West Branch is still QUICK & EASY by planning ahead to take westbound Exit 259 (West Liberty) then following 290th Street through Springdale, which will take you directly into historic downtown West Branch (Main St).
To Return to the QC area or beyond:
Regular route is open to access the I-80 eastbound on-ramp from West Branch (Exit 254).
Eastbound Travelers:
Coming from the Iowa City area to West Branch
​The regular route is open to access the I-80 westbound off-ramp at West Branch (Exit 254).
To Return to the Iowa City area or beyond:
Go west on Main Street to leave town, this will turn into Herbert Hoover Highway (F44) which takes you to the I-80 westbound on-ramp at Exit 249. Detour is marked.
