Main Street Sweep

On Sunday, April 22, Earth Day, the Main Street West Branch Design Committee held its first-ever "Main Street Sweep," an effort to clean up West Branch's downtown. Twenty-seven volunteers each spent about two hours sweeping cigarette butts, picking up trash, and generally cleaning up the place. Afterwards, they were treated to refreshments in the Hoover House.

Design Committee Activities

Design means getting Main Street into top physical shape, and capitalizing on our historic buildings is just part of the story! Join the Design Committee to dress up our downtown. We work on attractive window displays, parking areas, building improvements, street furniture, signs, sidewalks, street lights, and landscaping.

Design activities also include education programs, assisting property owners with historic rehabilitation projects, encouraging appropriate new construction, developing sensitive design management systems, and long-term planning.
